There’s Nothing to Fear: Supporting the New Generation of Psychic Youth

When I was a child, I had experiences I couldn’t explain. Sights, feelings, presences, and moments that felt so real and yet so confusing. But instead of comfort or guidance, I was met with silence… or worse, fear. Religion told me these experiences were demonic, that I was being deceived. That I should be afraid.

And I was. Not just of the unknown, but of myself.

Imagine being a child and hearing that your spiritual sensitivities, your inner knowing, your connection to something bigger… was evil. Imagine feeling unprotected by a God you were told was loving, and instead left vulnerable to terrifying unknowns. The trauma of that message stays with you. It creates shame, confusion, and isolation. It makes you question, Why me? And perhaps even more painfully—What’s wrong with me?

But here’s what I’ve come to learn: There was never anything wrong with me. And there is nothing wrong with these children either.

The Vibration of Fear

As I grew older, I began to understand something essential: These energies, these presences, were not trying to harm me. But I only responded to them with fear, and that became the vibration they associated with me.

Fear was the only door I had open. So that was the only way they knew how to knock.

But over time, I did something powerful. I changed the vibration. I softened. I listened. I leaned into curiosity, compassion, and boundaries. And everything began to shift.

The New Norm: Psychic Kids Are Here

Today, we are seeing more and more children and teens who are openly experiencing the paranormal, the intuitive, the unexplained. The veil is thinning, and as it does, gifts that were once ridiculed or hidden are becoming undeniable. These aren’t “weird” kids. These aren’t broken kids. These are children who are tuned in.

However, many are still growing up in environments, homes, schools, and communities where there is no language, no structure, and no safety to help them understand what’s happening.

So they do what I did. They feel fear. They silence themselves. They internalize the message that something is wrong with them. And that breaks my heart.

The Message I Wish I Had Heard

If I could speak to my younger self, the girl who felt so alone, so confused, so rejected, I would tell her this:

“You are not broken. You are not evil. You are not crazy. You are gifted. And you are not alone.”

And to the parents, teachers, and caregivers of these children:

Please, don’t dismiss what you don’t understand. These kids aren’t seeking attention; they’re seeking support.

During my lifetime as a troubled youth advocate, I’ve had teens quietly open up to me, sharing things they’ve never told anyone else. One told me they see their grandmother at night, sitting at the edge of their bed. Another said they can hear whispers no one else hears. Most of them preface these stories with a whisper, “Please don’t think I’m crazy.”

They don’t tell their parents. Some act out in various ways, not understanding all the emotions that they are experiencing. Many are afraid they’ll be punished, laughed at, or told they’re imagining things. What they want is someone to say, “I believe you.”

It breaks my heart to see how quickly these children internalize shame for something they never asked for, and yet, something that may be a profound part of who they are. Ignorance, even when unintentional, can be deeply traumatic. When we dismiss their stories out of fear, discomfort, or disbelief, we’re not protecting them; we’re isolating them.

Every time a child has to hide their truth to feel safe, a part of their light dims. But when we listen, really listen, we show them that their experiences have a place in this world. And more importantly, that they have a place in this world.

My Calling: Creating Safe Spaces for Psychic Youth

As someone who has walked between the worlds for a long time, I now feel deeply called to help the next generation. I want to offer psychic youth and teens a safe place to ask questions, share their experiences, and learn how to navigate their gifts without fear.

Not everything unknown is something to be afraid of. Many times, it is our fear itself that distorts the truth.

When we can teach kids how to manage their sensitivity, how to ground, how to discern energy, and how to establish boundaries, we empower them, not frighten them. We give them the tools I wish I’d had.

As the veil thins, so must our judgment. Society is changing. Our consciousness is evolving. What once lived in the shadows is stepping into the light. We are not here to shut the door on these experiences. We are here to reframe them, revere them, and responsibly guide those who carry them.

To every adult who has had experiences they still don’t understand, To every child who sees and feels more than the world seems ready for, To every parent wondering how to support their intuitive child... I see you. I believe you. And there is nothing to fear.
